The Fabulous Five Chengdu IFS Celebrates Its Fifth Anniversary of Inception
January 15, 2019, Chengdu — Chengdu IFS (Chengdu International Finance Square) celebrated its fifth anniversary yesterday under the theme “The Fabulous Five”. Since its establishment, Chengdu IFS has invariably adhered to the operation philosophy to “Innovate, Fabulous, Share” to go hand in hand with the city through a fabulous journey. The Fabulous Five is designed so to invite you to join our celebration of the fifth anniversary of foundation in retrospect, joy and expectation.
Government leaders such as Mr. Qiu Changbao, a member of the Party Group of the Jinjiang District Government of Chengdu and deputy mayor of the city, as well as hundreds of guests from foreign chambers of commerce, tenant brands and media attended the celebration ceremony last night. When opened to the public on January 14, 2014, Chengdu IFS brought an unprecedented portfolio of international fashion brands and a diversified combination of business models to the city. Following its inception, the giant panda outdoor installation became a signature of Chengdu as soon as it was unveiled. From the world’s first Light Rose Garden in the air to the first exhibition of Nature Connects in mainland China, dozens of artistic and cultural events have been held here to allow consumers to embrace spiritual enjoyment when doing shopping. Besides, multinational cultural exchange activities, such as “OPÉRATION PANDA” presented together with Saint-Germain-des-Prés of Paris and Chengdu Parcours Art Festival, have shown the world an increasingly international Chengdu.

Have a time travel in the “Extraordinary Designation, Chengdu Flow” time corridor art installation
Have a time travel in the fabulous corridor Chengdu IFS specially collaborates with contemporary artist and calligrapher, Heiao, to create the “Extraordinary Designation, Chengdu Flow” time corridor art installation. Blending contemporary calligraphy, sculpture and multi-media together, it summarizes the past and looks into the future to celebrate the 5th birthday of Chengdu IFS.

“Designation” means origin and name. In the art installation, familiar place names such as Hongxing Road, Daci Temple Road, Shamao Street and Jiangnanguan Street are given concrete images to turn the criss-crossed grids into historical slices to record the origin and evolvement. “Flow” means the flow of water, people, vehicles, and information. Five geometric boats are scattered in the flow to head forward, recalling us of the Tang and Song dynasties. In the “time corridor”, the melodious background music and the multimedia walkway below your feet would bring an immersive sensory experience. Seeing the interaction between bustling scenes in Tang and Song dynasties and modern landmarks today, one would naturally blueprint a bright future in mind.

Enjoy fabulous offerings now. The “High 5 Carnival”, which integrates entertainment interaction and food appreciation all in one, kicked off ahead of schedule on January 12. Interesting interactive programs such as “Birthday Photography with I AM HERE”, “Birthday Wishes” and “Future Wish Wall” are distributed in the shopping mall and the Sculpture Garden at L7 to fill Chengdu IFS with warm sound of celebration. Wearing hats customized for the 5th birthday and holding “fabulous” balloons in hand, participants in the carnival are impressed with the popularity and charm of Chengdu IFS when doing shopping and having fun. It is worth mentioning that the “Birthday Photography with I AM HERE” and “Future Wish Wall” will be available until January 24. “The Fabulous Night” Party shows a vision of the future
Look forward to the future with fabulous wishes. Last night, “The Fabulous Night” Party was held in the art gallery at L7 of Chengdu IFS to ignite the carnival atmosphere for celebration of its fifth anniversary. Hundreds of Mr./Ms. Fabulous and Chengdu IFS representatives witnessed the glorious moment to look back on the “fabulous” past and start the “fabulous” future. At the scene, the special futuristic scene created with sound, light and electricity detonated the party atmosphere, allowing the participants to recount the friendship of the past five years and leave warm wishes amid fun and freshness.
